Festival de musique émergente en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (FME) will take place from September 3rd to 6th, 2026, and you can bet ASBO is making an appearance! Set in the mining town of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec (just a 7-hour flight and a 9-hour coach ride), ASBO Magazine is on the hunt for the next best thing, travelling all the way to this hidden corner of Quebec to find it. After scouring the line-up, there are some seriously exciting artists taking to the Canadian stage.

1. Choses Sauvages

Montreal band Choses Sauvages are bringing the fun. Dreamy, light and ridiculously feel-good, expect upbeat, funky beats with groovy undertones and smooth vocals. The kind of sound that makes you smile and, most importantly, dance. ASBO experienced this band in Bristol; they had us dancing all night, so this is one not to miss.

2. Violent Magic Orchestra

Thrashing, pounding and relentless. Japanese band VMO (Violent Magic Orchestra) mix hardcore metal with electronic elements, smashing together drum and bass and techno into something that feels completely out of this world. Prepare to be whisked into the abyss. Earplugs? Maybe. Regret? Absolutely not.

3. Dogo Suicide

Expect high-voltage vocals, wild drums and guitar that cuts straight through your body. It’s Dogo Suicide (no dogs harmed in the making). Get ready to headbang, lose yourself in the chaos and release any tension you’ve been carrying around.

4. worry

The grunge-nostalgic, punk-inspired rock band worry from Quebec are here to feed all of our inner emos. Lose yourself in piercing guitar, a metalcore edge and intense drums, and forget what year it is. This is for anyone who still has a little teenage angst lurking somewhere inside them.

5. La Sécurité

La Sécurité arrive with energy, innuendos, fast-paced instrumentation and wacky vocals. They are certainly not a band who hide in the shadows. Full of spirit, attitude and punk energy, every track feels vibrant and unpredictable, combining sharp guitars, danceable rhythms and playful lyricism.

6. Iguana Death Cult

Experimental rock’n’roll featuring distinct vocals, bluesy guitar riffs and an infectious beat. Iguana Death Cult are inviting you into their cult, and frankly, we’re not saying no. Expect riffs, rhythm and plenty of party energy.

7. Xela Edna

Be enchanted by Xela Edna. The slippery snake of vocals entices you in as electronic beats build into something completely danceable and entirely in its own lane. Strange, hypnotic and impossible to ignore, this is one to stumble across and wonder why you hadn’t found them sooner.

8. La Belladone

The mesmerising La Belladone raps and sings over a techno frenzy of sounds. Colourful and full of hard-hitting beats, this unique and edgy artist brings something seriously special to pop. Expect something bold, unpredictable and made for losing yourself in the beat.

9. Truck Violence

Not as violent as they sound, Truck Violence are deeply passionate and hardcore, with folk trickling into the mix. This is the kind of sound that makes you feel something. Staying firmly outside the lines, their mismatched, messy yet delightful music refuses to fit neatly into a box. And why should it?

10. Camilla Sparksss

Camilla Sparksss brings whimsical experimental sounds with emerging flavours of electro-pop. Expect something playful, strange and beautifully left-field, sitting somewhere between electronic experimentation and pop sensibilities. One for those who like their festival discoveries a little bit weird.
