10LEC6 continue their forward momentum announcing the release of their latest album ‘Ako Akas’, out on the 9th October, and also issue their latest single ‘Manetik’.

Returning with an album that feels both digital and organic. Conceived as a euphoric journey, it bends, repeats, and stretches language until words become rhythm. The title comes from a mountain in southern Cameroon that, according to legend, causes anyone attempting to walk around it to disappear into an endless dance, a fitting image for music built on perpetual motion and transformation.

At the heart of ‘Ako Akas’ is the voice of Nicole, singing exclusively in Bulu, a language spoken in southern Cameroon. Around her, layered percussion, bass, and electronic textures create a sound that moves freely between techno, gospel, footwork, UK bass, Afro-pop, punk-funk, and Afro-tech. Rather than blending genres, 10LEC6 use them as points of departure, creating music that is fluid, immersive, and difficult to pin down.

Alongside the album announcement, the group also share ‘Manetik’, a 160 BPM percussion-driven track that sits somewhere between Afro-techno, footwork, and UK bass. Like their music, 10LEC6 resist fixed definition. Based in Paris but shaped by intersecting histories and diasporic influences, the collective continues to evolve on its own terms. Across various incarnations, its members have appeared in a Rough Trade Counter Culture selection, featured in Skins, and toured alongside The Gossip before dissolving into new projects and configurations.

Through it all, 10LEC6 have continued to weave together Afro-diasporic rhythms, experimental electronics, dub minimalism, and collective memory into something both immediate and elusive. With ‘Ako Akas’, they deliver their most expansive statement yet: generous, hypnotic music that never stops moving.
