Hailing from Marble Falls, a small town in Austin, Texas. Miles Wesley first made his name through appearing on ABC’s music-based TV Show Boyband when he was a teenager. Since then, Miles has grown a dedicated and passionate fanbase due to his various strong releases and cult status as an enigmatic and entertaining alt-pop star.
Ahead of his hotly anticipated debut project “Here Goes Nothing Demos!” Miles has revealed the video to his latest single entitled Medicine, a bold, guitar-laden, emo trap banger. Medicine’ is driven by clean guitar notes, which perfectly compliment the trap bass which is woven throughout, creating a multi-layered, broad and attention-grabbing soundscape.
Miles’s lush vocals ride the instrumental perfectly as he lays catchy pop melodies throughout with a hip hop flair. The featuring artist, Jutes, also provides an extremely strong performance, his feature helps to add some sonic variation throughout and compliments Miles’s vocals perfectly creating a mesmerising sound, as they both vocally riff about being in love, the power of relationships and the medicinal quality of having someone who loves you.
The accompanying video perfectly represents Miles ‘alt pop’ aesthetic, full of a mix of different shots, with various close-ups which help to bring out the track’s emotiveness. The unique use of colour helps to draw you in and keep your attention, whilst the VHS effect on some of the shots help keep the video fresh visually.
