Fresh off the back of her Swedish Grammy nomination in the R&B/Soul category alongside household names Aurora and Kygo, Marie Noreger is back and here to show the world that she will undoubtedly be receiving many more nominations in the months and years to come.
‘SLOOOWLY’ is perhaps Maries most daring offering to date as it showcases her first attempt at self-producing a track. I think it is safe to say that for her first go, she is setting the bar very high for herself.
The song is born from the realms of experimental R&B and Jazz and does a wonderful job of transporting the listener to a lucid dream-like state. The eerie vocals showcase Maries sound at its most authentic. Her vocal delivery coupled with the hypnotic beat, is the first showing of what Maries music will sound when she is given the full reins and able to craft a song completely in her image.
The weather outside might be miserable, but if you close your eyes and listen to ‘SLOOOWLY’ you feel like you’re floating on a cloud drifting without a care in the world. Seeing Marie flex her creative and artistic muscle, adds a lot of excitement and intrigue to see how her sound will grow from here as she ventures further into the creative experience of producing.
I for one can’t wait to add this song to my chill-out playlist and pretend that there aren’t gale force winds outside.
