Lucy Dreams are a dream pop trio hailing from Vienna, consisting of David Reiterer & Philipp Prückl. Wait, trio? Yes, the essence of this band arises from a crystal ball that is seemingly enthroned above all their output. An independent system of digital and analogue effects, developed by David and Philipp specifically for music production. ‘Lucy’ can be understood as an A.I. however, the connection between her & the two musicians is a far more intimate one, as Lucy is deeply involved in the song writing process, & deserves the title of A.B (Artificial band member). Lucy generates lyrics based on the input she receives, her literary diet has consisted of James Joyce & Ishiguro, hence the high quality of her poetry. Musical influences include Mark Hollis, Kate Bush, Bowie, Empire of the Sun, & Wayne Coyne
New single ‘Achilles’ delves deep into the realm of vulnerability and the remarkable strength that can be found in revealing one’s true self, drawing inspiration from the legendary Greek mythological figure Achilles. It follows the internationally acclaimed 2022 album “Götterfunken”, which featured on BBC Wales, Flux FM and FM4, & toured around Europe & New Zealand, & recent single ‘Emotional’. ‘H’ from Steps commenting on BBC Radio Wales ‘How absolutely beautiful is that..go & show em some love’. The live show, introduced by Lucy herself of course, unfolds into sprawling dreamscapes, making the interplay between man & machine a peripheral aspect of this art project. Lucy Dreams does not envision dystopias, no SkyNet, no technocratic apocalypse. Her thoughts reach us in waveform, David and Philipp serve as her mediators if you will. Lucy Dreams on stage is an experience for ears, eyes, hearts and minds
