American Punk Rock band The Linda Linda’s are leaning more into the indie sound for the release of their latest single ‘All in My Head’ off their new album ‘No Obligation’ set to release October 11th .
The quartet comprising of two sisters, a cousin, and a best friend: Lucia and Mila de la Garza, Eloise Wong, and Bela Salazar, first formed the band in order to support Kristen Kontrol at the women-lead music festival GIRLSCHOOL LA. With all members still in school or having just finished they write and record in spring breaks or long weekends, finding time between touring and tv appearances.
The band shared their new track alongside dynamic music video directed my James Wyatt. Bold and vibrant and full of youthful energy this video perfectly captures the essence of teenage angst in the most self-aware way possible; it’s scribbled style reminiscent of that of early 2000’s cult coming of age films such as ‘Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging’. Featuring a flip phone and the Pinterest famous book ‘My Year of Rest and Relaxation’ written by Ottessa Moshfegh. A book which explores themes of alienation and wanting to hide away from the world by sleeping for a year, and according to Lucia (the writer of this particular song) served as her inspiration.
The band themselves however, seemingly have very little time for ‘rest and relaxation’ having recently opened for The Rolling Stones at So-Fi Stadium Los-Angeles, as well as preparing to support Green Day on their US tour The Saviors this year. They will perform headline show dates throughout the tour as well.
For fans not in the US, The Linda Lindas –‘All in My Head’is available everywhere, with their debut album ‘My Anti-Aircraft Friend’ available to pre-order here.
Tickets to their upcoming tour are also available on their website.
