Thutmose

Growing up in New York was wild, with Thutmose describing it as a “unique experience; New York is a melting pot, with its roots in hip hop, R&B and Caribbean culture.”

Thutmose wants to “relay his experience to others” by staying true to his Nigerian roots and making music that is true to himself. Finding ways to communicate his story and concept to audiences is key to why Thutmose makes music. He enjoys the excitement of the challenge and “making a story or emotion relatable to people.”

Overcoming fears is part of his journey, saying that his confidence stems from purpose and doing what he loves. His advice to aspiring artists is to continue practising and putting yourself out of your comfort zone, saying “If you have any fears, just do it anyway.”

“The love for what I do is my motivation and my confidence boost”

Keep your eyes peeled for his new music, (EP is out on September 17th), his passion for what he does will no doubt pour out. Thutmose aspires to be an “inspiration to a younger me” and for others who dream of making music for a living.
