Opus Kink are made up of 6 musicians of varying talents, sounding like no other. Distinct and haunting vocals beside rock, punk, and jazz elements begin to define them, coined “Goth Salsa” or “Chainsaw Pop.” The kind of band that once discovered, the listener enters a deep dive into their work. They love what they do, enjoy the ride and live for the moment – Opus kink are a breath of fresh air.

Performing at Boomtown 2024, Opus Kink had audiences pleasantly surprised by the combination of musical elements. Their music is grunge-like but also high energy, think wild jazz and punk. Each band member brings a different flavour and the combination of that creates their beautiful sound.

ASBO magazine got to speak to the band, ahead of their performance. They ever-so-effortlessly slumped into the chairs and instantly looked so cool. We chatted about how they came to be, their favourite songs, plans for 2024, and things they love about hometown Brighton.
