1. For someone that is yet to discover you, how would you describe your music?

Organised chaos. We attempt to confuse you so much until you love it and don’t understand why.

2. What inspired you as an artist?

Societal dumpster fires, downward spirals and controversy

3. What is your process for preparing to perform live? Do you have any Diva demands?

Jonny recently has been listening to a new modern form of dubstep which is a lot more dub and a little less step. Sabrina will start doing vocal warm ups way too late to be effective and tell anyone who tries to talk to her to go away. Our diva demands are mostly for the sound engineer to turn it all up.

4. Where do you feel you fit into the music landscape?

Absolutely nowhere which is probably why nobody likes us.

5: What are your favourite musical genres, and are there any you dislike

Our faves that come to mind atm … old country music, grunge, UK Bass, sad dark female pop, etc.  Disliking … CORP POP (corporate pop), metal, and boring chill house.

6. Whats The Story Behind The Band Name?

Well, we were originally called Shelf Life b/c everything erodes and degrades into garbage but it was taken so we changed it to Shelf Lives.

7. What would you say is your greatest strength as a band?

Knowing that we can’t change the World or what people think.

8. What would you say is your greatest weakness as a band?

My bladder

9.  What can fans expect from your new single ‘Psycho’

we’d say it’s like drinking a sugary drink when you’re thirsty.

10. What music artist would you say have influenced your work?

We like what we like and it’s probably had a subconscious influence on what we create but there is no specific music artist that has directly influenced us.

11. Who would you most like to collaborate with artistically?

Lil Simz

12. What was your worst performance?

TBD

13: What was the most difficult obstacle you have ever faced and how did you overcome it ?

Our SPD crapped out right before getting on stage at a show earlier this year at the 100 Club in London.  Of course, the soundcheck went perfectly.  Jonny finally got it to turn on and had to reset everything with the SD card in it to get anything to play but everytime he reset, a file would corrupt.  We played whatever song would start so it was a bit of a roulette in terms of set list  which we got the audience involved in guessing and we managed to get through 5 songs before every file corrupted.  Good times.

14: What is your creative process when making music. Do you work with others or is there just you

We can’t give away our magic sauce recipe. We switch it up… sometimes alone, sometimes with others. Being creative is fluid

16: Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?

Deep down in the dumpster fire that inspires it. Life imitating art 😉
