“CATS EP” is Saiphon’s debut EP, celebrating a playful and creative take on the rock genre, while also beginning to demonstrate the range of the band. A funk-infused single, a rock ballad and two guitar-driven, classic rock-inspired tracks make Saiphon’s opening statement to the world. Through their EPK, you can access a preview of the second track: ‘Another Lifetime’. Bennie (singer) started writing the song following a bad dream surrounding the concept of missed opportunities in relationships. The track follows the narrator’s struggles with moving on from an unrequited love interest, with the dynamics growing as the emotion builds, culminating in a soaring guitar solo. 

As a student band from West Sussex, their fresh energy drives their sound and creativity, pushing them to look beyond their primary inspirations of Aerosmith and AC/DC and explore the sounds of other genres, such as blues icons, like Sonny Terry and Robert Johnson. With these influences combined, Saiphon forms a modern take on the blues-inspired classic rock style, offering a youthful spin on the old-school but young-spirited music of yesterday.
