The Harbours Release High-Energy Anthem “Live It Up” – A Celebration of Seizing the Moment The Harbours, the rising indie rock band known for their electrifying sound and infectious energy, are proud to announce the release of their latest single, “Live It Up.” The song, available now on all major streaming platforms, is an anthemic declaration of seizing the present and embracing the thrill of life’s wildest moments. |
1.Who is ‘ The Harbours ’
An upbeat indie rock band from Leicestershire, who have grown rapidly over their first 8 months together, amassing a dedicated following and forming an ever-growing footprint in the live scene.
2. For someone that is yet to discover you, how would you describe your music?
A blend of all good things from 2000s and 2010s British indie rock, think Two Door Cinema Club’s catchy guitar lines, The Kooks’ hooks and harmonies and the energy of Catfish & The Bottlemen.
3. What inspired you as an artist?
We connected over similar music tastes at uni and fell in love with performing live in front of people
4. What is your process for preparing to perform live? Do you have any Diva demands?
We always warm up our voices with the harmony from She Moves In Her Own Way backstage, and Ollie has a Tango Orange which has become something of a good luck charm.
5. Where do you feel you fit into the music ?
We see ourselves on the rise to being on of the favourite indie rock acts playing at festivals, hopefully with throngs of fans singing our lyrics back to us!
6: What are your favourite musical genres, and are there any you dislike?
Indie rock is what we listen to most together, otherwise Ollie listens to mixture of music from the last decade like The 1975, Mumford & Sons and Wunderhorse and Will enjoys classic 70s rock, think The Police, Dire Straits or Fleetwood Mac.
7. Is there a story behind the bands name?
Yes! We spent ages racking our brains for a band name and ended up settling with something that had a connection to us, the drinking game ‘Harbour’ we used to play with our mates at uni.
8. What would you say is your greatest strength as an artist?
We would probably say our ability to learn new things quickly and how we bounce ideas effectively off each other, rapidly exploring new ideas both instrumentally and vocally.
9. What would you say is your greatest weakness as an artist?
Perhaps simply the breadth of genres we are inspired by, this can see our studio sessions dragged in lots of different directions, but we always end up with a final product that we love listening to.
10. What can fans expect from your new single ‘ Live It Up ‘
A throwback to the 2000’s British Rock scene, Live it Up is sure to feel nostalgic yet modern and up beat all together. It has a bouncy feel to it, telling a story around the catchy guitar riff and solo. We can only apologise for it getting stuck in your head!
11. What music artist would you say have influenced your work?
We are inspired by Catfish & the Bottlemen, Two Door Cinema Club and The Kooks, yet bands like Hard-Fi from the 2000s scene influenced our new song Live It Up.
12. Who would you most like to collaborate with artistically?
We would love to collaborate with The Kooks, as they have such a interesting song writing approach and similarly to us, use harmonies throughout their songs. Up and coming bands we would love to open for would be Fontaines DC, KAWALA, and Wunderhorse.
13. What was your worst performance?
Back at University, we played a gig for the Cadets Annual Ball. The venue supplied no equipment and we were a very new band. Using tiny amps for vocals and guitar, as well as a very under-practised set, it may have been a blessing in disguise that no one could hear us.
14: What was the most difficult obstacle you have ever faced and how did you overcome it?
. The hardest obstacle we have faced so far is finding live venues for gigs. The initial breakthrough is so tough as promoters don’t know you yet. Luckily, after our BBC Introducing gig in Nottingham, we have more and more gigs continuously lining up which is exciting.
15: What is your creative process when making music. Do you work with others or is there just you?
We work as a two most of the time. Ours songs start in many different ways, often from us jamming a guitar and a bass until we find something we like. Occasionally we will come with an idea individually, bringing it to the studio to develop together.
16: Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?
We aim to be playing the biggest festival stages in the UK, and travel the world playing our music to fans!
17:Your Top 3 Overrated Musicians, who when you hear them you think ‘ How The Fk………….. ?
Wet Leg, sorry. Lil Pump, not sorry. Machine gun kelly.
