ONE TO WATCH: Ettore Poli

One of this break out stars from this years Graduate Collections was Ettore Poli. Whose concept was the dress as a ritual instrument to pay homage to the Dionysian values of pleasure and harmony with nature, the collection draws inspiration from biomimicry and the costumes of European country rituals, taking up their cuts.

The garments are revisited with natural or recycled materials , such as recycled furs and fabrics with an animalistic look. The irregular textures of mushrooms, bark and rocks are evoked through crumpled and pleated workmanship, while the patterns are created using photos of mold and my celials. Decorating the garments, collars and facings that imitate fig and ivy leaves, completed by collages made by hand with scraps of fabric.
