Growing up in the Swarcliffe estate of East Leeds, my obsession with fashion was sparked by the raw, vibrant street style surrounding my three sisters and me. This early spark evolved into a vital form of escapism during a period of my life spent in the hospital. Feeling a loss of control over my own narrative, I watched the world from a window and vowed to reclaim my future by filling it with unapologetic color. My time at Leeds Beckett University allowed me to transform this resilience into art, using the city’s unique fashion identity as a backdrop to push boundaries and prove to my children that any vision can be brought to life through hard work.
My graduate collection, ‘Childish Dreams,’ is a celebration of "dopamine dressing" inspired by the fearless, unconventional way my five-year-old daughter explores her wardrobe. By mimicking her oversized silhouettes and clashing palettes, I’ve created a series of interactive garments designed to spark conversation and evoke raw emotion. As I look toward building my own brand, my journey remains rooted in the idea that fashion has no boundaries. To the students following in my footsteps: don’t hold back and go big—this is your moment to show the world exactly who you are.
