The Lifeboat Playlist: GIFTHORSE Pick Their Top10 Tracks.

New Single ‘Love Is a Landslide’ Released 20th March 2026 https://ffm.to/loveisalandslide

W: Karl Watson

Stripped of the noise, the lights, and the labels, what remains is the music that truly matters. The Lifeboat Playlist is a raw deep dive into the sonic DNA of the artists we love, forcing them to choose the ten definitive tracks they’d carry into isolation.

It’s a survival kit built on gut-level resonance—a collection of anthems, heartbreaks, and high-octane riffs that define a lifetime. From stadium-sized roars to vulnerable late-night confessions, these are the songs that keep the fire burning when the horizon feels endless.

The tracks chosen by GITHHORSE serve as more than just a list of favourites; they are the literal building blocks of the band’s partnership.

  • The "Penny Drop" Moment: Discovering The Sundays’ quintessentially English charm.
  • The Grit & Glamour: Late-night karaoke sessions fuelled by Madonna.
  • The Atmosphere: A distinct thread of romanticised ordinary life running through their picks—a nod to the pub corners of Sheffield and the neon streets of London.

For GITHHORSE, the best music is that which turns a simple walk down the Strand into a cinematic masterpiece.

1: Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman

The 1st song I (Charlie) can remember appreciating for its craft - the immaculate key changes, the production choices. Expertly crafted but still emotionally devastating. The guitar break is my favourite ‘solo’ ever.

2: Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring

A song about growing up, leaving people and places behind. I don’t know if you can hear much of the Pets in our music on a surface level but thematically, they’re a big inspiration

3: Richard Hawley - Baby You’re My Light

Naomi is from Sheffield and up there, Hawley is basically Jesus. One of the 1st songs we bonded over. A simple love song done perfectly.

4: Alexandra Savior - The Archer -

Another song we bonded over when we first met. Reminds me of us walking down the Strand and getting to know each other.

5: The Sundays - Can’t Be Sure

Hearing this song for the 1st time was a penny drop moment. ‘But England's as happy as England can be’. Listening to The Sundays is like an invitation into a world that feels wholly their own, something which greatly inspires

6: The Ronettes - Be My Baby

Classic girl group pop. Very much inspired our debut record, ‘Please Love Me’.

7: Pulp - Disco 2000

Jarvis has a knack for romanticising the most ordinary of situations / events / people. We’re big believers in people-watching and celebrating the world around you. Also it sounds heavenly when you’re drunk at 2am in the Lexington.

8: Madonna Into The Groove

We got big into this at a moment when things were kind of bleak. We responded by doing a lot of karaoke. You can hear it in one of our songs, ‘Silent Disco’.

9: The House of Love - Love in a Car

We first heard this on the soundtrack to ‘One Day’, a Netflix show that moved us both. They’re a great band. Sort of like U2 but with more melancholy and drama.

10: Altered Images - Love and Kisses

Fun fact: I first asked Naomi to work with me by saying she sounded like Clare Grogan, the band’s singer. We’re now going on tour with them in the autumn, which is going to be really special. This song in particular has inspired some of our newer material
