Winnipeg’s Dream-Pop Duo sundayclub Announce Self-Titled Debut Album

W: Leigh L Kelly I: @evvvie.m-2

The Manitoba-based indie-pop duo sundayclub—comprising Courtney Carmichael and Nikki St. Pierre—have officially announced their highly anticipated, self-titled debut album, SUNDAYCLUB.

Set for release on 10 July 2026 via Paper Bag Records, the nine-track record is a culmination of a four-year creative journey that began in the basement of Carmichael’s family home.

Following their acclaimed 2025 EP, Bannatyne, the duo’s debut LP promises to further refine their signature "hazy" indie-pop sound. The band describes the record as "a blurry photograph, grainy but glowing," designed to process the complex, limbo-like feelings of early adulthood. Drawing inspiration from artists like Alvvays and beabadoobee, the album explores themes of connection, the compulsion to document one's life, and the fear of missing out

To mark the announcement, the band has shared the lead single, "Camera Shy." Described by the duo as the "quintessential sundayclub song," it is set against the backdrop of a chaotic New Year's Eve. The track is notable for featuring an unscripted, mid-session ad-lib—a pitched-down, conversational "Are you like okay?"—that captured the raw energy of their studio time.
