SAFIRE returns with EXXXTASY, a brilliant slice of euphoric avant-dance pop that sounds less like a standard club track and more like a manifesto for absolute, main-character energy. Built on a foundation of pulsating electronic production, the track acts as an intoxicating exploration of losing inhibitions, abandoning fear, and step-stepping into your power. At its heart is a hypnotic, unapologetic mantra of self-affirmation (“I’m pretty, I’m rich, I’m smart, you’re not...”) designed to be internalised and sung out loud. It is music engineered for the catwalk of everyday life, transforming the pavement into a runway. This electric connection is already translating to the real world; during a recent set at Club Revenge, the crowd was chanting the unreleased hooks right back at the stage, proving that SAFIRE has tapped directly into the collective subconscious of the underground scene.
"The crowd was chanting unreleased lyrics back to the stage—a moment that gave me absolute goosebumps." — SAFIRE
The single marks her third independent release following an 18-month hiatus, effortlessly capitalising on the massive momentum of Digital Freak, which saw her easily clear the 10,000 monthly Spotify listeners mark with steady backing from BBC Introducing. What makes EXXXTASY feel so vital is the uncompromising depth of the world surrounding it. Crafted by a fully queer, trans, non-binary, and female-led creative team, the visual identity leans heavily into underground club culture with razor-sharp styling from Gareth Valentino, featuring archival armor from Vivienne Westwood and Diesel. With a prestigious BBC Live Lounge session locked in for 29th October and a spooky follow-up, PHANTASM, slated for Halloween, SAFIRE is cementing her status as one of the UK electro-pop scene's most formidable independents. This is high-intensity, performance-led pop at its absolute finest.
