NEW SINGLE RED FLAG RUBY OUT NOW
In late 2024 The Incident burst onto the scene with their debut single 'All The Kiddies Doin' Drugs' a heavy piano pop rock record with an underlying social commentary. This was picked up by BBC Introducing who loved the track and wanted to play it but due to the title refused to, even though its not promoting addiction or drugs, but mearly a commentary on what the siblings and their peers see everyday, in real life and online. Making 'All The Kiddies Doin Drugs' an anthem for today's alternative youth who want more than what's packaged to them as convenience.

For someone that is yet to discover you/your band , how would you describe your music?
(Cab) Theatrical Art Pop rock like if David Bowie Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury all had a great night together and then - ta da - We were born.
(Eise) erm yeah. Haha
What inspires you as an artist?
(Cab) great performers who know how to put on a show, such as Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Lady Ga Ga, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Chappel Roan to name a few.
(Eise) I agree yeah watching Stevie nicks in Fleetwood Mac perform made me want to sing. I remember watching my brother on stage doing musical theatre I’d have been 5 and he was around 9 and it made me emotional, and proud and I wanted to do that too so I suppose I’m saying my brother inspires me too
(Cab) aww. Thanks. Yeah we were theatre kids down our local church hall. Good times, good people who helped us a lot actually. Love a bit of musical theatre I do.
(Eise) oh yes!
What is your process for preparing to perform live? Do you have any Diva demands?
(Cab) I need a bit of peace and quiet that’s all. Directly before I go on I just want some salty crisps a glass of bubbly and to be left to myself a bit.
(Eise) I like to make sure I have time to do some vocal warm ups just before I go on my favourite ones to do are the Cheryl Porter ones she’s amazing I love her.
Where do you feel you fit into the music landscape?
(Cab) Definitely portrait
(Eise) haha what? I’m sorry I don’t know haha
What are your favourite musical genres, and are there any you dislike?
(Cab) I haven’t found any grime I like but that could change I wouldn’t go as far as to say I dislike it but I’ve yet to find any I do like. I don’t dislike any genre of music I’m quite open minded. My favourite is heavy rock n roll I think with a good blues- rock back beat - I love the head bangers.
(Eise) same I wouldn’t ever say I’d swear off any genre of music I’m loving discovering new stuff so I’m open and it helps me when I’m writing to listen to new things that I’m not used to. I’m currently into alt pop, art rock, country, blues rock, jazz, I really love old school rock a lot!
Is there a story behind the name of the band?
(Cab) yeah in primary school it was kinda my nickname as my parents would often get called by teachers to say There’s been another Incident so that became a theme..

What would you say is your greatest strength as an Artist?
(Eise) I’d say our blood harmonies and our ability to write great melodies
(Cab) yeah I agree and our theatricality.
What would you say is your greatest weakness as an Artist?
(Cab) not having any money
(Eise) yeah it does make it really hard to gig further afield for so many bands
(Cab) the stakes are higher when you have no money everything is a bigger risk bit we are hungry and are working our arses off to make it work so being skint won’t be our Achilles heal for long.
What can fans expect from your new single Red Flag Ruby

(Cab) it’s a new sonic palate for us and a bit of a gear shift from the last single. we hired a string quartet which has been a dream of mine since I was little so I wrote and arranged the strings then had help with the the orchestration from Mr Graham Young, an insanely talented musician we’ve known years, ,but yeah I’m really chuffed with the results it’s got that Hunky Dory David Bowie essence, with dry drums, melodic bass, sweeping strings, and the trident studio piano sound which I was able to source in a really cool studio down near Southampton.
The songs story takes you on a dramatic turbulent flight through a toxic relationship with all the red flags you shouldn’t ignore - I think a lot of us have been there so can relate!
(Eise) yes and our vocals have some really great dynamics, ethereal and at times quite heavy, we recorded vocals facing each other which helped us be really in sync so our voices often sound like one instrument which gives it a distinctive feel that I think is becoming our trademark sound
What music artist would you say have influenced your work?
(Both) Oh so many but for starters Bowie, Paul McCartney Freddie Mercury John Williams, James Horner, Fleetwood Mac The Beatles Tori Amos Carly Simon, ABBA, Billie Eilish, Chapel Roan, Gracie Abrams, Carol King, Young blud.
Who would you most like to collaborate with artistically?
(Cab) Paul McCartney
(Eise) young Blud I love him.
(Cab) yeah he’s great. Love his festival and the ethos, good lad and he’s northern!
(Eise) yes we’d love to play Bludstock
What was your worst performance?
(Eise ) we did a gig at a rugby club and we couldn’t hear anything, we had a really short sound check, nothing went right that gig so we just kinda had to wing it. It was definitely a learning curve.
(cab) I think we just managed to survive that one haha

What was the most difficult obstacle you have ever faced and how did you overcome it?
(Cab) Funding the first single was an obstacle, and it was sheer luck really that a fan attended a gig we were third on the bill at - he’d come to see the main act but fell in love with our music so came forward and offered to help pay for recording.
(Eise) yeah we’ve had some amazing support from fans of the band without which there’d be no way we could of recorded all the strings and everything for Red Flag Ruby too.
What is your creative process when making music. Do you work with others or is there just you?
(Cab) me and Eise work together on harmonies but in terms of writing songs we tend to write a song each and then bring it to one another and go from there to work together on , working out harmonies and stuff
Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?
(Cab) selling out Wembley stadium, touring the world, you know!
(Eise) still writing together, still creating music and enjoying it, with a bigger and better stage show to take round the world. Oh my god ill be 25!!
