BST Hyde Park is set to grow even larger after plans were approved to increase attendance across its summer concert series.
Westminster City Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee has granted permission for The Royal Parks to stage nine large-scale concerts each year, with a maximum capacity of 69,999 people per event. The move means up to 75,000 additional concertgoers could attend the festival series over the course of the summer.
London festival goers are in for a jam-packed summer full of brilliant live music as BST Hyde Park brings you multiple stacked line-ups with iconic acts from all the ages. From bands that you know and love such as Birmingham’s very own Duran Duran to globally renowned Pop acts Lewis Capaldi and Maroon 5.
Fans who want to take a nostalgic trip back to the 2010s are treated to the anthems that ruled the airwaves last decade - Friday 3rd July’s soundtrack will consist of hits from Maroon 5, OneRepublic and Jess Glynne.
Also, following two massive homecoming shows last December at The O2 Arena, West London’s very own Mumford & Sons are taking to the stage. The War on Drugs are also returning to London for the first time in 2 years to support the folk-rockers. Holly Humberstone will be also playing on this day, following her newest album Cruel World released on 10th April.
For any old-heads looking to take a trip back to the 80s, Duran Duran will be headlining Sunday 5th July with ‘Girls on Film’ Scissor Sisters as well as the iconic Nile Rodgers & CHIC. Pitbull and Kesha, will be bringing American pop to the UK capital with a show of all night bangers on 10th July.
Arguably one of the biggest nights being put on by BST features Lewis Capaldi, Scottish superstar who will be headlining both Saturday 11th July and Sunday 12th July, joined by Conan Gray who has won over Gen-Z audiences for his brilliant introspective lyrics as well as new indie pop rising-star Nieve Ella who is definitely one to watch, with her sound being likened to the Arena-rock pop of Sam Fender. If that wasn’t enough, much-loved Indie-rock band The Vaccines are also joining Scottish pop sensation to bring the energy before Capaldi’s set of all-night singalongs.
Other day lineups include Oklahoma Country star Garth Brooks who will be playing with Zac Brown Band on Saturday 27 June and K-POP boy-band ATEEZ who will be headlining with British girl group FLO on Sunday 28 June.
