It was a sweaty summery Tuesday evening in London Town, in a small corner of the city, a low-key free event at Sebright Arms seemed to be the epicentre of all the energy you could possibly want from a Friday night, let alone a Tuesday.
After taking on Download Festival, LA based PRIVATE SCHOOL celebrated in style by putting on their first ever London show, second ever in the UK. The lead Khaki Jean’s first time ever out of the US of A. “I’ve always wanted to come to London; there Is just something about it. You guys just do it differently”. The crowd who showed, proved him right. Not a single moment did the crowd stand still, total participation from everyone. One moment, I got knocked onto the stage with the band, flying over the monitor, sick. Walls of death, circle pits and general moshing, hardly a phone in hand. Something about this band, just brings out passion from their listeners. Khaki brings himself into the crowd to say his piece through his lyrics direct to the fans, simultaneously being a performer and a punter. He seems to enjoy watching his band perform as much as we did!
“PRIVATE SCHOOL IS FOR THE PEOPLE” – AGODD, bassist
PRIVATE SCHOOL has blown us significantly due their excellent use of story based videography showing their immersive live shows in the US. However, they have the talent and music to back their viral success giving them longevity and a fan base that actually cares.
We were lucky enough to have a little informal interview with them after their gig which you can check out tomorrow on our Instagram! @asbo_magazine. The boys were sweet to talk to, extremely polite and insightful which goes along way in our books!
Check them out on all platforms! Spotify below!
