Following the heavy electronic detours of their 2024 Lords Of Rave collaboration with DJ Phantasy and Nicky Blackmarket, South East London’s premier grime-punk outfit, Riskee and The Ridicule, have officially returned to their high-octane roots with their latest single, ‘Ghettoblaster’.

‘Ghettoblaster’ wastes no time setting its boundaries. Opening with an in-your-face, distorted guitar riff and aggressive, driving percussion, the track immediately pivots away from the Prodigy-esque big-beat electronics of their recent output to embrace their signature raw, guitar-driven urgency. The verse instrumentation stays lean and relentless, creating a sense of grit that mirrors the vocal delivery. When the chorus hits, the groove shifts sharply—creating a dynamic drop that lets the repetitive, bashing vocal hook cut through the noise with maximum impact.

At its core, ‘Ghettoblaster’ functions as a dual-layered commentary, balancing a brutally honest look at the grind of an aging underground artist on the grueling London circuit with an uncompromising critique of the wider showbiz machine.
