1.Who is ‘Lemon Power

LEMON POWER formed as a band that wants to focus on playing live and throw a hell of a show every time. No fancy gimmicks, just pure, raw performance every time we hit the stage.

2. For someone that is yet to discover you, how would you describe your music?

Genre fluid indie rock with a touch of Spaghetti Western.

3. What inspired you as an artist?

We’ve always wanted to play, it’s a calling, it’s a curse and we don’t have to hold back. It’s a journey, it’s an unstoppable urge to make noise, it’s a hangover, it’s a lockin in your favorite whisky bar.

4. What is your process for preparing to perform live? Do you have any Diva demands?

We are meticulous and take a lot of care to prep before each show. We demand good manners, professionalism, and a couple of shots…

5. Where do you feel you fit into the music ?

We’ve never really fit in with any scene, and that’s become our scene.

We like to get to grips with the essence of music and creativity, we are not-polished, not-gratuitous and not-cute.

6: What are your favourite musical genres, and are there any you dislike?

We’re musical omnivores. Since we started playing we have touched a lot of musical genres: indie rock, punk, pop, acoustic, reggaeton, flamenco, reggae, salsa, Gregorian chants, cinematic / Western, disco, metal.

Each song is its own journey, and we let it take us wherever it needs to go.

7. Is there a story behind the band’s name?

Lemon Power sparked to life during one of those big nights out with friends. There’s a cheeky Italian meaning behind it too: ‘limonare’ means making out, which felt perfect for our vibe. Google it if you’re curious, but don’t blame us for what you find 😉

8. What would you say is your greatest strength as an artist?

Our live shows, hands down. Plus our incredible community of misfits and creators; we call ourselves the leftovers of the leftovers. They’re the real deal.

9. What would you say is your greatest weakness as an artist?

Marketing and everything to do with not being real.

10What can fans expect from your new single ‘ I’m An Animal  ‘

We went wild experimenting with different instruments and recording techniques, creating this massive sound palette.

It’s a call to the jungle, a sense of community and a feeling of liberation.

11. What music artist would you say have influenced your work?

I’m an Animal was heavily influenced by Metric “Dead Disco” and “Bohemian Like You” by the Dandy Warhols; and we also had an obsession for Pow wow drums.

12. Who would you most like to collaborate with artistically?

It would be a dream to collaborate with Gorillaz and with Louis Cole. And within the London scene we really rate Balderdasch and Honeyglaze.

13. What was your worst performance?

Let’s just say mixing special chocolate treats and live performance was… an interesting experiment. Picture four people on stage, each playing in their own timezone. Not our finest hour, but definitely memorable!

14: What was the most difficult obstacle you have ever faced and how did you overcome it?

Aside from registering songs on PPL, finding people who match our vision and with the same level of commitment has proved difficult at times. We always try to follow our sense of direction and be honest.

15: What is your creative process when making music. Do you work with others or is there just you?

We write songs together mainly in the rehearsal studio however we also have a very good remote-collaboration workflow. Being producers ourselves gives us the freedom to experiment and build tracks piece by piece, wherever we are.

16: Where do you see your musical career in 10 years?

We dream big and can’t wait for music to be our sole occupation! Coachella, Wembley, Glastonbury…all the biggest festivals; plus Tiny Desk!

17:Your Top 3 Overrated Musicians, who when you hear them you think ‘ How The Fk………….. ?

Let’s talk about interpolation – you know, when artists just copy-paste old hits and call it new music. That’s our biggest ‘how the f*ck’ moment. We could name names, but we’d rather let you do your research.
