Imagine a DC Comics heroine stepping straight into a 1950s cabaret, armed with the sharp, explosive energy of 2000s pop-rock. That is the vivid universe of Audshine. Refusing to play by industry trends, the independent artist crafts a signature lane where art-house cinema, noir elegance, and raw rock collide.
"Audshine is a bit like a DC Comics heroine who has just stepped into a 1950s cabaret."
Behind the scenes, Audshine’s drive is purely hands-on. Balancing artist duties with managing a live crew of up to twenty people, her pre-show rituals move from operational precision to quiet reflection. Soundcheck done and merch sorted, she retreats backstage for warm-ups, endless cups of coffee, and a quiet moment dedicated to her late father.
"My superpower is definitely resilience. I know how to pick myself back up and come back stronger, no matter the rejections or obstacles."
Her resilience fuels a rich tapestry of influences. Soundtracked by everything from No Doubt, Muse, and Deftones to Marilyn Monroe, Etta James, and Édith Piaf, her latest EP 'Pop N Roll' pays homage to the sounds of her youth. Yet, her creative scope reaches far beyond nostalgia. Drawing filmic inspiration from Baz Luhrmann’s 'Romeo and Juliet' and Quentin Tarantino’s 'Kill Bill', alongside the heavy sonic hit of Turnstile and LANDMVRKS, Audshine approaches songwriting like cinematic storytelling.
The track, 'Touché, Coulée', captures that narrative focus. A hauntingly intimate piano-and-vocal track, the song charts the dizzying drop from a dreamlike romance into emotional shipwreck.
"The song captures the vertigo of a story that begins like a dream and ends in a shipwreck."
Mirroring the surreal, memory-bent heart of Michel Gondry’s 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', the track balances floating tenderness with the sudden brutality of silence. It exposes the vulnerability of letting someone close, only to watch the idealised bubble burst.
"I’m writing and composing in both French and English... pushing back against the current trend and all the AI-generated sounds."
On stage, however, Audshine thrives on pure, uninhibited connection. Setlist highlight '2000', a high-octane nod to Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, and The Offspring, sees her pull crowd members onto the stage to share the room’s energy. It offers a striking counterweight to her introspective studio work, proving that her ultimate purpose lies in genuine human interaction.
Looking ahead to 2027, Audshine is expanding her limits. Unfazed by industry algorithms, she is writing extensively across both French and English, crafting organic, instrument-driven arrangements alongside new collaborators. Driven by love, grit, and an uncompromising artistic compass, Audshine isn't just following a path, she is building an enduring legacy on her own terms.
