Opening the 2024 season of Graduate Fashion Week is Birmingham City University, from the moment the lights dimmed, and the first model strutted down the runway, it was clear that this show was going to be special, challenged conventional notions of beauty that continue to define many of the other shows in town. This bold statement added depth and authenticity to this year’s collections, showcasing fashion’s potential to break barriers and celebrate individuality.   

Birmingham City truly felt like a show – Designs ranged from daringly experimental to elegantly surreal, pushing the boundaries of traditional aesthetics and inviting viewers to question their preconceived notions of style. Bold shapes, unconventional materials, and avant-garde silhouettes dominated the runway, offering a glimpse into the future of fashion. Rhiannon Chrisene, Kat Graham, Connor Holmes & Nya Philips created collections that kept the audience engaged and enthralled from start to finish.
