The lights go up and down and Institute Modartech graduate fashion presentation begins , it’s students first time on the catwalk and each pulled out the stops to get noticed creating collections that took inspiration from every 1940’s tailoring, 1900’s men’s wear, a concept celebrating diving suits and a every aspect pop-culture trends or icon, tied into their aesthetic.

Striding purposefully down the catwalk, Luca Buratti’s models looked like Old Mafia Don’s personnel in a fabulously styled 1940’s old gangster film with a slight touch of the Italian revivor, It wasn’t the slightly off-kilter colours – mustard yellow, red leather and black – the angular cut of the masculine coats and jackets, the trousers pieced together from geometric grey blocks of material, incredibly stylist, but very wearable . Unlike a lot of young designers he’d focused on the commercial rather than the creative. The result? A brilliantly executed, stand-out collection.
