At last nights LCF MA Graduate Show marked the beginning of 2025’s outgoing crop of fashion students. Young designers performed magic; showing unbelievable shapes, textures and fabric manipulations, volumes and structure, high-tech fabrics, reinvented street wear, cleverly constructed shapes, sparkles and clarity of white, fantastic designs, concept, innovative techniques, beautifully made pieces, unexpected ideas and striking vision, aimed straight into the future.
The strength and breadth of menswear could also be seen in collections by Yanlin Wu’ who explored protectionist warrior-like silhouettes and Dong Hyun Oh collection is about Korea’s gay community. Through the show, he wanted to convey the story behind the fashion, not just its best view. Yunyang Wang based her collection around Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice, it was nostalgic, classic but very modern,
Yanlin Wu

Yanlin Wu’s collection, Beyond the Gaze, reimagines eroticism and challenges the male gaze through bold, gender-inclusive designs that merge empowerment with playfulness. “I am cooked by the society.” After realizing the male gaze is not merely an external framework but a deeply ingrained societal lens, Yanlin decided to confront it head-on with her rebellious approach. The collection transforms labour-intensive craftsmanship into wearable art, with unconventional materials like horsehair evoking punk-inspired aesthetics. It channels the energy of a nightclub at dawn, where rivets glimmer like disco lights, knitwear pieces bring humour and surreal charm, and quirky details add a whimsical edge to this provocative narrative. Through this collection, Yanlin offers a fresh, mischievous take on sensuality and coolness.

HARU KIM: This collection examines the transformation of 2D graffiti into 3D wearable forms, rooted in the vibrant street art culture of East London. Developed through extensive research and collaborations with local graffiti artists, a unique graffiti alphabet was created and seamlessly integrated into the pattern cutting. By drawing parallels between English sentence structures and garment typologies, the collection establishes clothing as a medium for communication. Bold, dynamic prints evoke the striking visuals of graffiti, while the use of recycled fabrics underscores a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. The walking graffiti aims to start a conversation about art and fashion.

Yunyang Wang: This collection transforms Tadzio, the beautiful youth from Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice, into a contemporary male muse. The association of sailors knots to bondage explore the hidden currents of desire and restraint in nautical archetypes.
Navy blue, baby blue and white intertwine with textures of wool, cotton, and sheer silk, in cuts that play with seduction and masochism. The collection conjures a distant and elegant youth, beautiful yet reserved, exuding sensuality and detachment.
