BATTLESNAKE

W: Rachel June

The quest for world domination continues as Battlesnake embarks on a UK tour in 2024 - playing their electrifying guitars, fearsome bass and deathly drums to rooms filled with amazed audiences. Battlesnake is a 7 headed serpent full of the most powerful and skilful metal guitarists. Everything about them is otherworldly. The band stand together in glisteningrobes emerging from the underworld, rearing its horned head with a metallic roar.

ASBO spoke to Battlesnake at a pivotal point in their career. They have been making huge waves in the music industry whilst wowing audiences playing live as well as creating magic tracks. They are heavily inspired by the “crazy book of the bible” as the “ultimate world building” - enabling endless opportunities to make remarkable and unique sounds. Battlesnake are self-proclaimed “prophets” inspired by the brilliantly bizarre elements of
revelation scripture.

Vocalist Sam Rhea leads the pack, his strong and dramatic voice beams across the room whilst Nick’s drums smash through the atmosphere. Paul, Daniel and Ben’s powerful guitars surge through the crowd, and Elliot's heavy bass accompanied by Billy’s crazy keys make up the astonishing sound. It all comes together to send shock waves of energy into the night.

Battlesnake just released their 2024 album ‘The Rise and Demise of the Motorsteeple’ which is the most theatric metal you’ve ever heard. Their 2023 self-titled ‘Battlesnake’ album includes epic tracks such as The Nightmare King’, completely bonkers and off the rails when performed live. Exploring the stage and venues, they climb and jump around like mad men, playing amongst the crowd and hanging off beams.

The name ‘Battlesnake’ was written in “the prophecy”, with the band stating that “we were adventuring the North Pole on separate excursions and came together, as the scriptures prophesied. We peered down and saw the words ‘Battlesnake’ written in the snow, thinking it would be a great name for a metal band”. real story, no exaggerations here.
Songs to get the band pumped on tour include: “Du Hast” by Rammstein, and “Firestarter” by Prodigy.

They advise aspiring musicians to “just do it, and do it well - because you have the capacity to” and not worry about what anyone else thinks. The band particularly love the impact that music has on others. Having supported Kiss which was an “unbelievable experience”. Their Hamburg set was “fucking amazing”, and they plan for even more spectacular shows; including falcons, horses, elephants and bikes. They plan to head on a world domination tour in 2025, so check them out to experience the wonder for yourself.
