Belfast post-punk/electronic specialists Chalk are back with a vengeance, releasing their gripping new single 'Can't Feel It' today (October 22nd) via ALTER Music. The track, which premiered on BBC 6 Music with Huw Stephens, arrives alongside news of the duo's most extensive UK and Ireland headline tour to date, set to kick off in April next year.

The newly NYC-headquartered label-signed group, formed by award-winning filmmaker-musicians Ross Cullen and Benedict Goddard, follows up on their acclaimed August single 'Pain' with a track that captures their signature sound. 'Can't Feel It' is a collision of industrial textures, cinematic storytelling, and emotional tension. It was produced by Chris Ryan (NewDad, Enola Gay, Just Mustard) and mixed by industry heavyweight Andrew Dawson (The Rolling Stones, Tyler, The Creator).

The duo's upcoming headline run is their biggest yet, culminating in a performance at London’s iconic Electric Ballroom on April 23rd and a mammoth hometown gig at Limelight on May 16th.

Speaking ahead of the release, Ross Cullen explained the song's meaning: “We wanted to write a dance track that celebrated the ups and downs of youth. It’s about a secret first kiss I had with a friend when I was younger, and reminiscing on the euphoria of that — but also the excitement of keeping something hidden from everyone around me, which in the end led to feelings of solitude and alienation.”

The accompanying visuals for 'Can't Feel It'—a song about sensuality, yearning, and desire—merge mythic imagery with modern elements like smartphones and earpods, setting a story in a medieval world of courtly love and rivalry that reflects "the tension between repression and release, tradition and experimentation."

Chalk's rise in 2025 has been nothing short of meteoric. After sequestering to rural Ireland and industrial East Belfast to record new material, the duo quickly sold out a UK and European headline tour in the spring and made debut festival appearances at major events like Glastonbury and Bilbao BBK.

The band's vivid soundscapes have earned them widespread praise from peers, with Fontaines D.C., IDLES, and Sprints all handpicking them for support slots over the past year. Their critical acclaim spans publications like Rolling Stone UK, NME, The Line of Best Fit, and Consequence of Sound, cemented by multiple BBC 6 Music playlist placements and a recent KEXP session.

Chalk is now set to bring their immersive, visceral live show to the US for their North American live debut this November, including headline stops in Seattle, Portland, LA, and NYC. The Belfast specialists are clearly staking their claim as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the island in recent memory.
