Don't miss the new single 'New Man'—a high-energy, classic rock anthem that heralds the arrival of Saiphon's full-length debut album.
Saiphon is a four-piece rock'n'roll band based in West Sussex. Aim to fuse that classic rock feel and sound—from the soaring vocals to the punchy riffs—with their own personal experiences and ideas. For those yet to discover them, the band describes their music as a return of classic rock'n'roll—featuring fun lyrics, memorable choruses, and tunes to tap your feet to.

This time last year, West Sussex rockers Saiphon released their debut EP: Cats EP. Now, after a busy year of gigging and writing new material, they are approaching the release of their first full-length album. Fuelled by classic rock inspirations, the album takes the listener on a compelling journey of change and self-creation.
The band's primary influences are iconic bands like AC/DC and Aerosmith, but their inspiration spans all genres, from traditional folk to heavy metal to Delta blues. They believe there is a gap in the modern market for a band that embodies that classic rock energy, and they feel they could be the ones to fill it. They chose a unique name to match their sound: Saiphon is named after Saiph in the Orion constellation, a word the members settled on because it didn't already exist.
The upcoming single and title track, ‘New Man’, serves as the inspiration for the album as a whole. The band had previously released a demo-style version of the track, but the final single goes to the extreme in its discussion of changing as a person, comparing it to being a corpse rising from the dead. This Gothic-inspired rock'n'roll track takes you on a journey from death to resurrection. Inspired by the 'Frankenstein' idea of multiple people’s body parts forming one man, it talks of new ideas and a whole new way of thinking—thoughts that weren’t there before and a body that moves and feels differently. Fans can expect that classic rock feel: a driving rhythm paired with a soaring solo, plus a harmonica solo to go with it.
The core of Saiphon's strength lies in their commitment to releasing new music; while they love gigging, creating something completely new is where their focus lies. Typically, one band member writes the core of the song (lyrics, melody, and chords), and then the group fleshes it out together.
However, having four very different people with very different musical inspirations can sometimes get a bit rocky in the rehearsal room, leading to disagreements on how elements of a song should go. They overcome this by focusing on how they want the song to sound overall and just working through it. Collaborating with one of their rock idols would obviously be a dream, but Saiphon notes that these legends are likely a bit busy.
When it comes to performing, Saiphon keeps it simple. Their pre-show routine includes panic and telling themselves everything is going to be okay, and their 'diva demands' are limited to just a glass of tap water and a sound system that works!
With 2025 slowly coming to an end, the band's focus is squarely on getting this album out and then immediately working on new material for their next big thing.
