GRAMMY Award-nominated and platinum-selling producer and songwriter SHIZZI, known for his era-defining work with heavyweights like Wizkid, Davido, Fireboy DML, Ed Sheeran, and Meek Mill, has officially launched the first release on his new label, OBG Records. Shizzi has linked up with exciting new afropop talent TAYOR for their new single titled ‘FAMOUS’, a bright and captivating afrofusion love anthem.

The track was sparked spontaneously during a trip to Johannesburg. In a moment of pure creative flow, Shizzi unearthed a hypnotic Indian sample and immediately built warm chords, bounce, and percussion, while Tayor began writing beside him. Virtuoso bassist Siyabonga Wonder Hlengetwa added a live, soulful low-end to complete the sound.

The result is a cinematic offering that feels both spontaneous and ready for the global stage. It’s driven by Tayor’s emotive vocals, gleaming melodies, and lyrical vulnerability, perfectly complemented by Shizzi’s signature percussion bounce and sticky groove. Shizzi describes the session as “pure energy … one of those sessions you can’t recreate.”

Written as the sun set over a Sandton penthouse skyline, ‘Famous’ captures the exhilarating rush of success and the chaos that follows. It's told from the perspective of a young star who, amidst the distractions, still chooses one woman above all.

Tayor plays expertly with the tension of rising notoriety and real intimacy. The track balances braggadocious flexing and streetwise swagger with vulnerable admissions of being "addicted" to his leading lady and experiencing "withdrawals" when she’s gone. His cheeky lyrics weave in nods to Santa, soda pop metaphors, Naija street slang, and Yoruba asides, creating a sticky, sing-along groove that consistently circles back to loyalty and undeniable connection.
