The first full weekend of March opened with plenty of events to choose from. ASBO magazine delved deep into the heavy bass lifestyle Bristol has on offer. We visited the Thekla venue on Friday, 6th, for Bristol-based dnb DJ and producer Anaïs, presenting their own event: ‘Wait, what?!’
Following this on the 7th was UK Garage and bass-heavy electronic DJ and producer Taiki Nulight at the Clock Factory venue. The two Dj’s we had the pleasure of experiencing went B2B at Boomtown 2025 at Anara forest, so we knew they were the ones to see!

‘Wait, what?!’ was an unreal experience, starting from arrival at Thekla (and for anyone who hasn’t been before, it is on a 173ft ex-cargo ship), transformed into a captivating venue! Anaïs and supporting artists (Whiney, Berra, and J Bookey) delivered exactly what the doctor ordered. Strobe heavy, high energy performances that got the audience dancing until close with the smoothest blends of drum, bass and 140 tracks. Iconic tunes such as Tekkers made an appearance, which grabbed the crowd with force, resulting in screams of joy and some serious shapes being cut. MC Jolie P brought the night together, connecting the audience to the decks with her first-class stage presence. The time flew by, and close was far too soon. Bring on the next Anaïs event!

Phase two of the weekend approached. Clock Factory hosted a night to remember! The venue was packed from the start with a queue running down the street, and the energy was instantly electric whilst quality sets by supporting DJ’s (Subscript, Darcy B2B Ria, and Drone). The tension built for the main event and kept the spirits high for the closing.
The synchronised lighting and visuals complemented the music perfectly. Strobe, beams and ceiling screens coordinated with drops, enhancing the atmosphere by fully immersing the crowd. Unreal energy levels took over when Taiki Nulight entered the stage, instantly taking full control. His legendary tracks, Innocence 2025 and Counting, knocked you sideways as everyone bounced off the walls.

The mix of UK garage to 140 and dubstep was the perfect blend. The bass levels made it feel like the music was running through your veins. A feeling you won’t forget. Taiki Nulight and MC P Money had a wild stage presence - fully infectious that made the crowd mirror the authentic love for the music.
Bristol has delivered a next-level weekend experience with so much more to offer. If this is just a taster, to fully immerse in Bristol’s music culture would be a pleasure.
