The Accademia del Lusso 2024 Graduate Fashion Show, titled "Oniricon," transformed Milan’s Talent Garden Calabiana into a cinematic dreamscape inspired by the legendary Federico Fellini. Drawing from the surreal atmospheres of La Dolce Vita and 8½, the showcase presented 76 outfits that navigated the tension between decadent elegance and circus-inspired whimsy. Divided into three thematic pillars—Funky Town, Minimal Chic, and Dreamlike—the collections highlighted a sophisticated mastery of silhouette and storytelling. Central to the show’s success was a high-profile collaboration with the textile giant Manteco, which provided students with premium, sustainable fabrics, ensuring that the avant-garde designs were anchored by the world-class quality synonymous with the "Made in Italy" label.
Beyond the runway, the 2024 showcase served as a powerful testament to the Academy's interdisciplinary strength and its commitment to reinterpreting fashion heritage. By integrating research projects on iconic houses like Romeo Gigli and Giuliano Fujiwara, the graduates demonstrated an ability to bridge historical reverence with contemporary urban aesthetics. The show’s cultural impact was further solidified when a curated selection of the garments traveled to Los Angeles for exhibition at Warner Bros. Studios, marking the cohort as a globally-minded generation of creators. Ultimately, "Oniricon" was more than a graduation requirement; it was a professional-grade manifestation of how the next generation of designers can use the lens of cinema to redefine the future of luxury.
