CLASS OF 2024: Institute European Di Design

DATE: 24th October 2024. PLACE: Room 398. TIME: 15.30

Institute European Di Design students expressed all their concerns, experimented with new materials, recovered traditions and translated them into new shapes and silhouettes. Through the language of fashion, these young talents engage with profound and universal themes such as memory, identity, and gender fluidity, exploring the boundary between the personal and the collective. Their creations are the result of personal journeys, blending lived experiences with an artistic exploration that transcends eras and cultures, interweaving influences from the past, present, and future. Each collection becomes a visual narrative, capturing and reflecting contemporary tensions and the rich cultural traditions that define our ever-evolving society. The students merge artistic influences with architectural references, creating a dialogue between materials and shapes, fabrics and volumes, which challenge conventions and open new pathways to experimentation.

Winner of the Fashion System Award was Marco Servedio, author of the 3K collection inspired by work on construction sites and his worker father, presented by Mario Boselli of Luxury Jersey. The catwalk show emphasized safety and risk prevention through worker’s uniforms in durable, high-performance technical fabrics made from Majotech fabrics and attentive to different physicality's. The garments featured technological inserts, such as LED lighting systems powered by batteries and solar panels, which charge during the day and release visibility when light is scarce; fasteners provide mobility and versatility, transforming part of the uniform into backpacks and helmet holders.
