Come and find them say Bedroom Tax

Bedroom Tax are an eclectic four-piece from East London fusing driving riffs and beats with catchy yet introspective lyricism. The group's dynamic sound and poignant subject matter cut through the noise drawing comparison to Gorillaz, Arctic Monkeys, Bakar and The Streets.

They return with 'Hide & Seek', a track built around a single, stubborn idea: the price of choice usually ain’t free. Where recent releases leaned on grit and momentum, this one slows down and looks around - at money, systems, ambition, and the quiet cost of navigating all three.

This ambitious track marks a clear evolution for the band, who have spent much of 2026 writing new material since their sell-out show at London's Sebright Arms in April. Together with producer Dean Glover, Bedroom Tax are pushing the boundaries to serve up an important statement.

The lyrics move between the language of finance and the language of survival: mortgages, VAT and purchasing power set against depression, endurance and pain you can't trace the source of. The chorus lands the thesis: the more you read, the less you see, and the more you feel, the less you say. It's a song about what people show and what they file away, delivered with the wordplay and double meanings the band have become known for.

Gideon Parirenyatwa (lyrics, rapper) and Josh Collins (singer) carry the message with a restrained, watchful delivery that pulls tight in the breakdowns, where the repetition in the final phase builds into something closer to a chant than a hook.

The band play East London's hottest new venue, Altar, on October 31.
