Fletchr Fletchr: From Pub Gigs to Brothers in Arms

W: Tommy Buck.

Debut Single, ‘Jet Black’ Out Today

Meet Fletchr Fletchr, the indie rock outfit whose music is as layered as their personal story. Formed by lifelong friends Rohan and Adam, the band grew organically from years of playing in small-town and London pubs. Their initial songwriting spark came from shared experiences of simultaneous breakups, but soon, the material demanded more than just two guitars. Enter drummer Oli and bassist George, who completed the lineup, solidifying a brotherhood that underpins their sound.

The band’s name, Fletchr Fletchr, is deeply rooted in connection and family. It originated when Rohan and Adam, unable to afford London life after university, moved back into Rohan’s family home—the "Fletcher house." With Adam essentially becoming part of the family unit, the playful moniker was born. Tragically, the name now carries an even deeper significance. Following the passing of Rohan’s father—who was the band’s biggest fan and source of encouragement—the name became a lasting ode to him, as it’s his second name too. This experience transformed them "from a band of friends to a band of brothers."

For newcomers, Fletchr Fletchr describes their sound simply as "ethereal indie rock for all ages." While the core leans toward alternative rock, their diverse influences allow them to branch out, ensuring there's "something for everyone."

The themes resonating through their music tackle "very adult but relatable emotions of anxiety, love, and grief," creating an immediate kinship with their young fanbase through what the band calls "widescreen indie rock. Big songs!" This is evident in their debut single, ‘Jet Black’, which Rohan wrote about the anxiety he felt watching his girlfriend move onto a new career while he was still working in a pub, a message of feeling left behind.

Influences are broad, spanning the classic rock anthems of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles to modern acts like Palace, King Krule, and Wolf Alice. Adam’s affinity for jazz, citing artists like Tom Misch, shapes the harmonies, which Oli and George’s rock sensibilities tie back together.

Ask the band about their greatest strength, and they point to open communication—a vital ingredient when spending so much time together. Rohan stresses that Fletchr Fletchr operates as a community. Their videographer, tour manager, and team members are all friends from childhood, making the relationships with their crew the true backbone of the band.

Despite their growing reputation as a "ferociously good live band," their pre-show routine remains refreshingly grounded. From their early days of 15-minute line checks in tiny venues, they’ve streamlined their setup. Once soundcheck is done, it’s simply: "up to the bar for some food and a couple beers. It’s not religious, but it’s a routine."

With the end of 2025 approaching, the band is gearing up for a major milestone. They are launching a UK/Ireland tour starting November 11th, culminating in their biggest headline show yet in London on the 26th. This tour celebrates the release of their upcoming EP, ‘We All Feel the Same’.

As for dream collaborations, Rohan jokes that if the music career fails, "we’re screwed." But artistically, the dream list includes their foundational heroes: Paul McCartney and Trent Reznor.

If they weren't making music, the consensus is that they’d be lost, but for now, Fletchr Fletchr is finding their footing both on and off stage.
