Orbiting out of the Londinium star system, Hari The Cosmic Cowboy is a three-piece psych-rock outfit whose identity exists in constant, thrilling flux. What started as a solo DIY side project, spanning acoustic roots across albums like 'Speak Without Speaking' and 'Volumptuosity', has evolved into a high-octane live power trio. Blending heavy psych riffs, groovy drumlines, and country-grunge attitude, they are carving out their own cosmic orbit regardless of where they land in today's music landscape. "We’re not too concerned as long as there’s an audience," the band shares. "We could be 50 years too late or 50 years too early, but for us, as long as we are authentic to what we enjoy playing and hearing, we’re happy enough."
"Riding on an asteroid round the rings of Saturn."
That outer-space ethos bleeds into everything they do, right down to their pre-show rituals. Before stepping on stage, you'll usually find them parking the spaceship on top of the venue, hopping down off the roof, and hunting down a beer or two in the green room to accompany a cosmic smoke. That laid-back, interstellar cool seamlessly pairs with a deep-seated musicality drawn from legends across the spectrum. Influenced heavily by Jimi Hendrix for the psych and style (the cosmic) and Neil Young for the folk-country grunge (the cowboy), their ultimate dream collaborators range from Aretha Franklin taking over vocals to cutting a track with Funkadelic.
"We’re driven by the divine need to get people dancing, and we won't stop until that happens."
Their latest release, 'The Serpentine' EP, captures this fiery live energy and channels it into a four-track exploration of romance and its volatile stages. The track list moves fluidly from the lustful celebration of love on lead single ‘Rossa Luna’, a live staple featuring a hypnotic drumbeat that erupts from start to finish, to the night-out chance encounters of ‘Big Boots & Fur Coats’, the unrequited crush of ‘Heartbreaker’, and the sting of infidelity on ‘Silk Top’. If the EP were the soundtrack to a film, they envision a wild, cinematic ride in the vein of From Dusk Till Dawn or Natural Born Killers, helmed by Quentin Tarantino.
"Drop the needle and be transported to a world where the drums are groovy, the riffs heavy, and the sound enchanting."
Pushing past early performance anxieties by simply failing and trying again, the band continues to rely on a single golden rule: the first idea that comes to mind is generally the best. When fans drop the needle on 'The Serpentine' EP, they are invited straight into that unfiltered, enchanting world where heavy riffs meet groovy rhythms, all driven by a singular, relentless mission to get the crowd moving.
