NEW SINGLE 'AMERICA' OUT 27th February
W: Paula Longshaw I: Lily Doidge
"A masterclass in hopeful delusion, pairing fuzz-soaked guitars with a tongue-in-cheek charm that never takes itself too seriously."

With a string of sold-out London headlines at The Lexington and Sebright Arms already under their belt, Slumber isn't just knocking on the door of the zeitgeist—they’re trying to kick it down with a rented cowboy boot. Their latest single, "America!", serves as the lead manifesto for their upcoming concept EP, Slumber Breaks America! (Attempt #1).
It’s a track that brilliantly weaponizes the "Transatlantic Dream," blending the greasy grit of a basement show with the shimmering, ego-fuelled mirage of stadium success.
Sonically, "America!" is a masterclass in controlled chaos. It captures the swaggering cool of The Dandy Warhols but filters it through the twitchy, self-aware lens of LCD Soundsystem.
The production is thick with fuzz-soaked guitars that feel appropriately "sticky," mirroring the dive-bar floors the lyrics inhabit. It’s loose, charmingly unpolished, and carries a tongue-in-cheek bravado that suggests the band is in on the joke—even if they’re secretly hoping the joke comes true.
Slumber has managed to bottle the specific brand of madness required to be a DIY band in 2026. "America!" is more than just a song; it’s a high-octane fever dream about trading sensible decisions for a shot at the mythology. If this is "Attempt #1," the US market should probably start bracing itself now.
