If 2024’s Untethered EP was the warning shot, 'CESSPIT' is the full-scale invasion. Released today, May 15, the new single finds Cober Mouth leaning harder into the "gut-feeling" songwriting that has become their trademark.

Known for their refusal to stick to a single lane, 'CESSPIT' manages to fuse the mechanical precision of Northlane with the raw, jagged energy of Knocked Loose. The track opens with a disorienting, low-tuned riff that feels like it’s dragging you under, living up to its title before the first vocal even hits.

Lyrically, the band continues their tradition of "metaphorical cloaking." While the title suggests something stagnant and foul, the delivery is anything but. There’s a frantic, claustrophobic pace to the middle section that perfectly captures the feeling of being trapped in one's own headspace—or perhaps, given the band's history, the darker side of their coastal roots.

The release of 'CESSPIT' comes on the heels of the band's biggest announcement to date: joining the line-up for Till Fest this summer.

For a band that was playing 100-cap venues in Bristol just two years ago, stepping onto a stage at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal is a seismic shift. Cober Mouth’s blend of industrial-tinged metalcore and atmospheric alt-rock is the perfect sonic fit for the "two worlds" theme of Till Fest.
