The Incident today release their new single Red Flag Ruby, with soaring strings and powerfully building overall orchestration the song lulls you into the false sense of security of a cosy love song...only to have the rug pulled from beneath, to reveal how colour blind you've been to all the relationships red flags, as the song magnificently crescendos to its peak with driving exciting drums guitars, piano and strings, and raw vulnerable vocals, to leave a lasting imprint on any listener.
In late 2024 The Incident burst onto the scene with their debut single 'All The Kiddies Doin' Drugs' a heavy piano pop rock record with an underlying social commentary. This was picked up by BBC Introducing who loved the track and wanted to play it but due to the title refused to, even though its not promoting addiction or drugs, but mearly a commentary on what the siblings and their peers see everyday, in real life and online. Making 'All The Kiddies Doin Drugs' an anthem for today's alternative youth who want more than what's packaged to them as convenience.
This is the story of Tom (AKA Cab) Davies (aged 20) and Emma (AKA Eise) Davies (aged 15) two working class kids from Halifax with music in their veins from an early age.
Tom who is neuro diverse - diagnosed with Autism from a young age struggled at school. Chastised for not conforming, and reprimanded frequently for dancing into the classrooms and singing during lessons. Luckily, he escaped the school system and became home educated at the age of 10 followed swiftly by Emma who is never one to miss out on the fun.
With their new gained freedom, the siblings found time to pursue their creativity and find themselves as artists, forming a band in their early teens. During lockdown age 14 Tom taught himself to play piano The first song he learned was Bohemian Rhapsody in a matter of days, he then quickly decided he needed to write his own music.
Meanwhile, at age 10 Emma a young actor, landed the role of Jess Beaker, Tracy Beakers daughter and went on to film three seasons as the beloved character for BBC Studios. On set her co-star Dani Harmer, bought her a ukulele as noted her love of music and so too began Emma's musical journey.
The band caught the attention of Justin from The Darkness who at his acclaimed 'Justin Hawkins Rides Again' tour played their demo of 'Red Flag Ruby' to his sold out audience in Salford and said “You don’t hear voices like that very often do you, staggering, there’s not much you can say when someone’s that talented"
The young duo, known for their exhilarating live performances, sold out their first ever headliner gig for the launch of their single. The Incident were swiftly invited to play for Noel Gallagher, The Pixies and Richard Ashcroft’s VIP Live Lounge at The Piece Hall in Halifax, all three of which shows were sold out. As 2025 rolled in The Incident played a Pride Youth event and tore the roof off, and as thier followers grew the young band began recording their ambitious second single 'Red Flag Ruby'.
Later in the year the young band supported The K's at one of the last shows at the legendary Sheffield Leadmill, with fans travelling 100s of miles to see them play.
