Rising star in the new wave of world-class soul and R&B, Australian based artist and creative BOY SODA has unveiled a brand new track and music video today, ‘Never The Same’ - from his highly anticipated debut album SOULSTAR, set to be released October 3rd, 2025.

Never The Same’ comes off the back of BOY SODA’s first triple j Like A Version where he covered Panic! At The Disco’s iconic 2000s emo classic ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies.’BOY SODA slows things down a little and brings in some gentle drums, velvety, warm bass lines and jazz-y horn trio.

On the new single ‘Never The Same’,BOY SODA said: “I wrote Never the Same with an empty cup and in a period of isolation where the emotional pain of separating from someone felt so indefinite and permanent that I thought I’d never be the same again. For me, the grief and devastation of that event slowly transformed into recognising the beauty of change and accepting that of course, things can never be the same as they were, not even a second ago.

Musically, the song is armoured by so many incredible musicians that are friends & produced by Finbar & myself in a way that feels so personal and under my skin. I cried a lot recording this song. It felt devastating for me to write it, because I hadn’t met such a fragile version of myself yet, but now it feels like a joyous and euphoric release of acceptance, and a surrendering to my emotions.”
