Harley: Neil Young – Heart of Gold

This tune was one of my earliest introductions to music through my Dad, who was actually named after Young. When I was about 15 I dug up After the Gold Rush from my Grandad’s record collection and it’s been one of my favourites ever since.

Grizzly Bear – On A Neck, On A Spit

Maybe the first song I ever learnt in an opening tuning. Grizzly Bear and their Yellow House record single handedly change the trajectory of how I wanted to play guitar, and I one day aspire to have that level of artsiness in my music, whilst keeping things very intimate

McFly – I’ll Be OK

My first band, my first concert, and this is probably their best tune. Will happily whack this on once a year and go down a big nostalgia rabbit hole, but god forbid this goes on at the function.

Joel: Snow Patrol – Chocolate

Reminds me of driving in the car when i was younger as we had this album on cd.

Harry Nilsson – Everybody’s Talkin’

A very beautiful song that is also in borat, which really cements the songs legacy.

Boney M. – Rasputin

Played this on just dance 2 the other day, and it was one of the most cathartic experiences of my life.

Never not on repeat for me ever since i first heard it and is one i always come back to very consistently

Hard life – Sangria

Until i was about 16, i would say i didnt have a music taste and extremely occasionally would actually put any music on. when i listened to this song it kinda flicked a switch and its been my favourite song since and made me wanna explore music.

Ross: Elliott Smith – Angeles

One of his most haunting songs and the finger - style guitar work is as impressive as it gets and it’s helped me write guitar parts as of recent.

Dinosaur Jr. – Almost Ready

Underrated track from an underrated album in their catalogue. That solo at the start rips like crazy, I wish my guitar could sound like that.
